The Al Huntsman Award

This is given by the Montana State Genealogical Society in acknowledgement for dedicated service to the genealogical community by a non-genealogist.

It is named in recognition of Al Huntsman, a dedicated genealogist and Past President of MSGS. He was quite active in MSGS and also was a member of the Gallatin County Genealogical Society.

Because of his many years of service to the genealogical community, it was decided in 2010 to give an award in his name annually at the State Conference to an individual, business or facility that does not belong to a genealogical society, but invaluably contributes with support or aid to genealogists.

The first Al Huntsman Award was awarded at the 2010 Montana State Genealogical Society Conference in Lewistown. Since then, the following organizations or individuals have been recognized for their contributions through this award.
